Today we are pleased to announce the release of CrowdSight version 3.5, our software toolkit for real-time crowd face analysis.
At Sightcorp we are committed to the continuous improvement of our technologies, therefore, the new release offers a number of significant software updates and new functionalities that make CrowdSight more versatile, robust and stable, for instance under challenging lighting conditions.
Measure your Audience Under Low-light Conditions
The new CrowdSight 3.5 is trained to better analyse sub-optimally lit faces through the application of illumination normalisation algorithms. You can now detect and process multiple faces successfully across more challenging lighting conditions compared to the previous version.
Use Your Face as a Remote Control for 3D Avatars!
CrowdSight 3.5 is now also able to automatically detect multiple facial landmark points, which includes the location of the mouth, nose, chin, eyes and eyebrows (see image on the right). Not only will you be able to obtain a better visualisation of the faces of your audience and get more precise data of the location of facial features, but you can also use this feature to directly control the facial expressions of 3D avatars and play around with 3D add-ons like glasses or a beard. Additionally, it allows to accurately measure if the mouth and eyes are open or closed and when the eyes are blinking. This opens up a number of application possibilities – up to your creativity!
First-class Age and Gender
We have enhanced the accuracy of our demographic classifiers by retraining them using further improved algorithms and datasets. Our age classifier now performs with an error of +/- 5 years, gender is now measured with an accuracy of 94,4%.
Most Accurate Eye-center Localisation, Ever
We have significantly improved our eye-center localisation for better face pre-processing, which for instance significantly reduces the classification errors for the age and gender classifiers.
Visual Studio 2013 Now Supported!
By popular demand, our CrowdSight SDK now also is compatible with Visual Studio 2013.
Know What Grabs Your Audience Attention!
CrowdSight 3.5 offers a brand new “getHeadGaze()” function, which allows you to measure where people are looking at. Not only can you use your head as a pointer for interaction, but you can also build a heat-map to know which areas around the camera attract the most attention. This is a real killer feature for storefronts and shopping malls!
New getters and setters
It is now possible to switch between all settings on the fly. This offers much more flexibility while searching for the right parameters.
CrowdSight is changing the way companies gather customer insights through the intelligent and automatic perception of their non-verbal behaviour, preferences and demographic profiles without any human intervention. CrowdSight is triggering the creation of innovative applications across many business verticals and applications areas, including Marketing and Advertising, Digital Signage, Airports, Event organizers, Healthcare, Automotive and the Entertainment industry. From the real-time measurement of audiences’ faces in various real-life environments, to the delivery of targeted advertisement, customer satisfaction measurement applications, or the development of more humanoid-robots that can answer to users’ emotions, CrowdSight offers attractive, beneficial and profitable business cases.
- Highly flexible and easy-to-integrate tool: customers can build their own innovative applications by simply integrating our sophisticated algorithms during development
- Cross-platfom: CrowdSight supports all major desktop and mobile operating systems, including Windows, Linux, OSX, iOS and Android.
- Real-time Analysis
