What is eye tracking?
Eye tracking is a research tool that tells you how, when, and where people looked by recording and observing eye behavior such as pupil movement and dilation. This technology is used to reveal insights about people’s behavior in many fields, including market research and commercial testing.
How does eye tracking work?
Eye-tracking is a straightforward process and starts with sending out near-infrared light. At the same time, the light is reflected in your eyes. Those reflections are picked up by cameras from the eye tracker. For pupil dilation, the eye tracker measures pupil sizes using video images taken by cameras. In order to work as accurately as possible, the system must know more about your eyes, so for gaze locations, the eye tracker uses a calibration process to map eye movements into location subjects.
