What is DeepSight Toolkit?

DeepSight Toolkit is an easy-to-use cross-platform solution that enables you to detect and analyze multiple faces using just one application. The software is the deep learning-based successor to CrowdSight Toolkit, which gives you accurate insights into the behavior of your audience in real-world environments. No hard coding is required, which means that anyone can install and use the software within minutes.

What about privacy?

Sightcorp has a standing commitment to protect the privacy of customers and audiences. Since no images are recorded or stored with our Face Analysis solutions including the Toolkit, no uniquely identifiable data (personal data) can be extracted. Images from the camera sensors undergo real-time conversion into (anonymous) statistical data within a few tenths of a second. By default, the images are then discarded immediately without any storage of facial images.

Sightcorp Face Analysis software does not store any images. The analysis process works as follows:

1. Images (frames) come in via the camera
2. Images do not get stored, but are immediately blown up into “pixels”
3. The images are thrown out/discarded
4. Only thing that is stored locally on the machine is the raw data
5. Sightcorp can’t access your data on the device or the camera

Sightcorp technology is built with privacy by design, and we have also launched a privacy by default feature. This feature activates automatic face blurring during real-time video analysis.

What is DeepSight SDK?

Our DeepSight Software Development Kit (SDK) is based on Deep Learning and has been built in-house by our highly skilled team of computer vision experts. DeepSight SDK is excellent at detecting faces – it can be an ideal solution for face-based people counting and face blurring in live video to comply with privacy laws.

The DeepSight technology is a deep learning-based update of the CrowdSight software. Face Detection, Age and Gender Estimation are the core features of our proprietary deep learning algorithms.  Additionally, it includes Mood and Happiness detection capabilities for Retail and Digital Signage applications. We are in a process of rolling out the other emotion recognition. DeepSight is available for Windows, Linux and Android platforms.

What is Smile Detection?

Smile detection is a process of identifying a smile on a person’s face. The process of smile detection can be described relatively straightforward. The software first detects the individual’s face with the help of a face detection algorithm and then analyzes the different features of the face (in this case the mouth) in terms of their position.

To be more specific, the software uses an algorithm trained on thousands of images of smiling faces to determine if the face currently at hand is smiling or not. Afterward, the software outputs a value corresponding to the level of a smile (on a scale from 0 to 100).

More pronounced smiles will receive a higher value while neutrally looking faces will receive a lower value. With this data, our clients can create their own mood categories and buckets based on their specific requirements.
